A nice Thomas and Thomas Caenis bamboo fly rod, 7’6″, 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #3 line. Serial #4842. 3.6 ounces on my scale (listed as 2 7/8 oz on the data sticker). Medium full flexing action. Near mint condition as the rod has been used only a few times. An impression in the otherwise perfect reel seat varnish is the only sign of use I could find. The cane has the stippled flame treatment and the varnish is perfect. The wraps are a rose color with three windaways at the keeper and male ferrule. Carbide stripper. Swiss style ferrule with a collar and fully retained oxidizing. The cap and ring are also oxidized. The 5 1/2″ grip is styled to a blunt cigar. The cap and ring seat is a lovely flatted walnut. The cap is stamped “Thomas and Thomas Makers” and retains 100% of its oxidation. The rod packs into a tan bag and aluminum tube with brass hardware, and the tube has the T&T data sticker affixed.
