NG Series Midi 50 Drum Winch with Free Fall

The Midi 50 Freefall series is a heavy-duty version of the popular Midi. It is suitable for heavier boats up to 8 metres where the design of the anchor well is too small for the Maxi. For example, 759 Stabicraft, 7-metre catamaran or tri-hull.

• Baseplate 8mm marine grade stainless in three parts and welded

• 25mm diameter solid stainless steel shaft
• Drum capacity equal to the Maxi
• Diameter of the drum 300mm
• Maximum lifting capacity 260 kilos (when the drum diameter is small)
• Holding capacity at anchor 2000 kilos
• Rated to 135 amps

Normal running the Stress-Free will use 40 plus amps and underload up to 135 amps. To protect the motor, the circuit breaker will trip out if there is a power overload (for example, if the anchor is stuck on the bottom)

We recommend installing dual batteries and operating the drum winch with the battery switch on BOTH.

65 metres of 10mm nylon plus 8 metres of 8mm chain OR

90 metres of 8mm nylon plus 8 metres of 8mm chain OR

160 metres of 6mm double braid eye spliced to 5 metres of 8mm nylon and 8 metres of 8mm short link chain

The gearbox mounting holes in the mounting bracket allow the motor and drive to be installed at 4 angles to suit different anchor well configurations. Another 8 adjustment angles are available at 30 and 45 from each of the basic 4 mounting holes.

NB: (the motor cannot be mounted in the horizontal position to face the baseplate)
