A dual push button switch is located on the top of the head torch for easy operation. Turn the white LED on by holding the right switch for 0.5 seconds and then each press after that will cycle through the modes. The last used white output will be remembered the next time the light is turned on. Turn the red LED on by holding the left switch for 0.5 seconds and then each press after that will cycle through the modes. While the torch is on, press either button to switch to the other mode and press and hold either button while the torch is on to turn off.The HL16 has a lock function to prevent accidental turn-on. To access lock mode press and hold either or both of the buttons for three seconds while the torch is off. The torch will blink red four times to indicate locked mode. To unlock simultaneously hold both buttons for three seconds, the torch will blink red four times and then turn on in the red mode.Apart from being lightweight, the HL16 has a number of other features that make it great for outdoor activities.
